It hadn't taken long for the two to get to the courtyard. Saino had struggled the last half part of walking there and relied on Conrad to support her to a bench where she could rest. A heavy sigh escaped Saino as she closed her eyes before she smiled over at Conrad as if to thank him. Not a word was said as Saino averted her gaze to look around the Courtyard.
She gently rubbed the wound on her shoulder. She had better take it easy and not do any of those crazy stunts she was known for doing. It was a comfortable silence she felt between herself and Conrad and Saino wondered why that was. Usually she felt uncomfortable around others she didn't particularly know that well. Shrugging it off she grinned again wondering if he would strike up a conversation.

Conrad had also noticed that it wasn't an awkward silence like those he was famous for. People seemed to find him hard to approach and be around, the result of being brought up in a military family. He was glad that it was like this. After they'd sat there a while he realized that his hand was still pressed against her lower back, basically wrapped around her with his fingertips curling around her side. The moment he noticed his cheeks turned a deep crimson and he removed his hand, looking away. Normally he would shy away from contact of any sort, but he was just so comfortable with her that it didn't seem to bother him as much. It was strange, but he liked it.

Saino felt the shifting and only then did she realized Conrad's arm had still be around her. Heat rose quickly to her cheeks as she realized she hadn't even...well realized it was around her! She quickly glanced the opposite way of Conrad, hoping he didn't see her blush just as she had missed his. "So uh..." She began only to realize she really didn't have anything to say and blushed a bit more for that slip. She peeked at him out the corner of her gaze, studying him as best she could from the way she was looking.

Conrad looked back to her as she spoke and laughed a little, seeing she was as ruffled as he was. He tried to quickly think of something to say to her. "So... What are your plans for when you leave here?" He asked, though he immediately regretted it. In a way, he'd already asked that. He knew she wanted to leave and get back to her life as soon as possible. "I guess I mean... Uh, do you have anyone to go back to? Any family? A boyfriend?" Conrad quickly averted his eyes. He sucked at this social-type conversation. "Never mind... That's none of my business I suppose."

Soft laughter escaped Saino at Conrad's question. "No, I don't have anyone to go home to. I live alone in my little apartment with nothing but my computer," She grinned at him as she rubbed at her thigh for a moment. When she left? It was a question that seemed to stir Saino a bit. This place was nice and Conrad was very kind as well. Something Saino wasn't use to. Her apartment complex was decent, but not something she would ever invite a friend to. Shaking off her thoughts she grinned again. "I'm not sure what I'll do. I'm sure I'm missing my deadline and they're sure to be mad when I do turn it in." She had almost forgotten she had been on a project before her night fun with the thugs and running from them.
"So what do you do? Just run around all the time saving damsal's in distress?" She teased playfully giving him a soft nudge against his side with her elbow.

"Hmmm... A computer can be nice for a while, but I suppose it gets lonely after some time. I mean, I don't know about yours, but mine sure isn't very talkative." He grinned and chuckled lightly at his comment. "But from the sound of it, it seems like you've gotten on just fine like that for a while. I mean all this talk about deadlines is pretty serious sounding." Secretly, Conrad wished he had something like that to do. He was so bored as of late and needed some action. He laughed again at her question. "For your information, I am one of the top guards at this castle, thank you very much. It is my duty to protect my lord from things like butterflies and the occasional breeze." He sighed. "No, I used to do all sorts of things. This used to be a relatively dangerous area, and I risked my life nearly every day. Now there's not much of anything to do. That's why I was at the lake that night. Getting away from the nothingness."

Saino listened to Conrad before giggling. No, her computer wasn't that talkative and the only time she was on it was when she was working on a project and listening to music. Her interest peeked when He said he was one of the top Guards here, but the words that followed after made her laugh. "Must be some pretty dangerous butterflies huh," She grinned up at him. She glanced around again. Dangerous? She wondered vaguely what had made it a dangerous place for him to be risking his life all the time to protect his Lord. She pondered on questioning about it, but soon figured it was probably none of her business so she let it go at that.
"And the deadline really isn't a serious thing at all. Well, they probably think it is. I'm a Graphic Designer. I create Logos and web designs for businesses or random people who want to pay me to do something for 'em. It's nothin big, but keeps me entertained." She mused thoughtfully. "The project I'm on right now I have to design a website for this hotel. Forgot the name of it though, but it's written down on a sticky note on my computer so it's all good," Her eyes curved with a silly grin as she folded her arms in her lap.
Curiosity arose as Saino thought more about being a guard. "Being a guard must be a lot of stress right? I mean, having to look after your Lord as well as others? I bet you see a lot of interesting things though too..." She trailed off in thought as she glanced up at the sky.

Conrad was glad he could make her laugh. It made him smile. "Is that what you do for a living? That graphic designing thing? It does sound pretty interesting." Conrad almost wished there was something he got paid for. Payment wasn't necessary as a guard because anything your heart desired was provided. It got boring after a while. He considered her question then, wondering how exactly to put it. "You're right. It is stressful. Having Nefarion's life in my hands 24/7 is incredibly trying, but it has its rewards too. I enjoy helping people, and I have everything I could ever want... Well, for the most part. I used to see things all the time. Nefarion and I used to travel everywhere, then he found Sherra, his mate, and we haven't gone anywhere since." He said all of this with a hint of sadness and loneliness.

Saino listened thoughtfully. The sad tone to his voice made her frown, but she quickly brushed it aside and smiled at him. "Yeah, that's what keeps me fed. I could show you a finished project sometime if you like. It's not the best, but hey I get paid for it right," Her eyes curved again before she turned her gaze to look down at her bare feet for a moment.
"Well hey! I'm feeling a little better! How bout we continue this tour," She said looking at him with another excited grin. This place was gorgeous of course, but she wanted to see the rest of it. It wasn't every day you got to roam around a Werewolf's kingdom right?

"I would love to see some of your work. I would be honored, in fact." Conrad nodded, smiling a bit. "Yeah, let's continue. I want to show you something." He stood and offered his arm, eager to continue. He lead her all the way across the castle grounds, pointing out insignificant things to pass the time, as he was moving relatively slowly for her sake. When he stopped it was at the edge of a cliff that overlooked the land for miles. "Here we are. This is one of my favorite places to be at sunrise or sunset." Forest stretched for miles and open plains dominated the horizon. You could see the occasional roof of houses where werewolf families had taken root. Secretly Conrad wished to live there someday instead of in the damned castle. The sunlight touched everything, making it glow. "Isn't it incredible?" He asked.

Saino grinned, almost pleased by the fact Conrad was interested in her work. When he stood Saino shifted and mused over her arm for a minute before standing up slowly and taking his arm. She walked beside him, listening to all he said and gaze at the things he pointed out to her. When they came to a cliff the view made her gasp quietly. "Wow..." She breathed out in awe as she looked around. It was breath taking. She had seen many sunrises, but nothing to this stature. It was all she could say as she studied the beauty in silence.
Finally she shook her head and looked up at him inquisitively, her own auburn eyes glittering with the morning rays of the sun that lightened them to a more warm gold. "You must come out here every morning to see this right?" She looked back over the horizon once more.

Conrad smiled as he gazed out over what he'd seen so many times before. The breathtaking view never got old. He looked at Saino and watched her as she took in the view, pleased that she seemed to share his appreciation of the beauty of nature. He looked away from her again and looked out over the sun-touched forest, falling into a daydream.
The sound of little feet patter across a hardwood floor, the smell of a fresh-cooked breakfast of bacon and eggs wafting through the air. The playful screams of children dominating the atmosphere and sunlight streams in through an open window. Outside there are trees for miles with bluebirds singing and flitting between them. "You must come out here every morning to see this right?"
Conrad shook his head, snapping out of his reverie. "Oh, um. Yes. Every morning I come here and work out while the sun rises. I also come every evening to watch the sunset." He smiled at what he'd daydreamed. Perhaps one day... He mused.
